Kat is an Auckland based creative with a varied career in the film and theatre industry. They are a proud member of Actors Equity and WIFT (Women in Film and Television).
Represented as an actor by B&M Creative Artists, Kat has appeared in more than 30 stage productions across NZ's professional stages; on NZ's most loved soap Shortland Street; in TVCs, and Telefeatures; and in a long string of independent features, shorts, and music videos. Recently they have toured extensively with beloved children's theatre makers Tim Bray Theatre Company - starring in The Man Whose Mother Was a Pirate, The Great-White Man Eating Shark, and Greedy Cat. In 2020 Kat starred in sci-fi thriller Alone which won Best Theatre and a PANNZ Tour Ready Award at Auckland Fringe Festival.
To support their creative endeavours Kat provides editing services for commercial and narrative projects. Working with Premiere Pro, Kat has created content for a diverse range of clients and projects including AMP Insurance, NZ Human Rights Commission, Auckland Council, Department of Conservation, Blikfang Art Gallery, and I Love Ugly.
Kat has directed and produced content for both screen and stage. Successes in this field include producing NZ On Air funded music video 'Crawling' for Ryan Enzed and associate producing short film 'Skin' which premiered at the 2016 NZ International Film Festival. In 2017, 'Stay', co-produced by Kat, screened at the NZ International Film Festival as well as at Giffoni International Film Festival. Theatrically Kat has produced a number of sold-out seasons including shows at the NZ International Comedy Festival, several productions at the Basement Theatre and Maidment Theatres including the critically acclaimed 'The First Time' which was also invited to show at the Toi Wahine NZ Festival of Womens Theatre. As a director Kat has helmed film projects for Blikfang Art Gallery and a number of short films, as well as successful theatrical shows at Q Theatre, Pride Festival, Short + Sweet Festival, Basement Theatre, and Maidment Theatres.
Kat has penned several screenplays and theatrical works. Kat's first short film 'Numb' was accepted into the Cannes Film Festival 2016 Short Film Corner, which she attended in France that year. Since then she has penned several other short films and commercial scripts, as well as sketch and comedy work. In 2019 Kat was selected to take part in Auckland Theatre Company's Young Writers Table where she is developing a new full length play.
Kat is also available to hire as an MC at events, and has worked as a Corporate Quiz Host for Believe it or Not Quiz Nights for the past five years . Their varied career has also included an extensive portfolio as a fashion model; dancing and choreographing; stylist and art department duties; and helming discussion panels and script development initiatives such as 'Dark Mondays' Playreading series.
